The cricketing fraternity in Pakistan was left out of a single Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) official at the presentation ceremony after the conclusion of the final of the ICC Champions Trophy between India and Australia. ICC President J Shah can be seen on stage, handing over the trophy to Captain Rohit Sharma and distributing medals to all the players. However, no PCB official became part of the proceedings on the stage at any time, despite being an official host for the tournament of Pakistan.

Since this ceremony has ended, Pakistan has been very angry in this way, the way it all came to light. Pakistan veteran Wasim Akram erupted from the ceremony to the absence of PCB officials.

Speak on the dressing room show Live after the final in Dubai, Akram highlighted that PCB COO Sumed Ahmed Syed was at the venue, as the PCB representative in place of Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, but he was not seen anywhere during the ceremony.

“As far as I know, Chairman Saab (PCB President Mohsin Naqvi) was not well, but people from there were Sumaiyar Ahmed Syed (PCB’s Chief Operating Officer) and Osman Vahla (International Director for PCB), but no one was on stage,” he said.

The incident has been snowed in a huge dispute, several questions have been asked from the International Cricket Council (ICC) on the incident.

“We were hosts, were we not right? How do the COOs of PCB also come or who could be the chairman of who was representing Saab, why were they not on stage? They were not invited? I don’t know what the story is. It was definitely a strange while I was there.
