Luxury fashion Label Shivan and Narash marked their 15th anniversary with a fabulous fashion showcase in heaven covered with snow GulmargJammu and Kashmir. The pair, known for wearing their signature print and avant-garde resort, unveiled a striking ski collection featuring sculpture ski suits, appr-si enclosure and statement winter layers. However, the incident became controversial, by igniting cultural sensitivity and timely debate.

Fashion shows that captured social media
Conducted on 7 March, the show was a visual spectacle, equipped with a furnished form on the runway worn with snow, adorned in vibrant art prints, 3D ornamentation and fluid silhouettes. The collection basically defines modern ski aesthetics with a bold maximalist touch mixed with luxury. Nevertheless, while the fashion world celebrated this border-term moment, videos of this incident were widely broadcast on social media, criticizing their time during the holy month of Ramadan.
A dispute comes out
It found itself at the center of hot debate, instead as a celebration of show, style and craftsmanship. Religious and political leaders, including Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, condemned the incident, is unfair to the cultural and spiritual ethos of the region. “Insonictive! In the holy month of Ramadan, a porn fashion show is held in Gulmarg,” Farooq expressed on X (East Twitter).
Addressing in the conversation, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, while accepting the public sentiment, said that images demonstrated a disregard for local sensitivity. He has ordered an official report on the matter within 24 hours since then.
Brand’s legacy and cytar vision
Despite the controversy, Shivan and Narash remain a pioneer in India’s luxury swimming and ski fashion, which merge global trends with Indian artistry. His Gulmarg show promoted the growing demand for a high-fashion cycle in India, which takes an elevation on apps-si dressing with bold colors, structured silhouettes and fluids.

While the videos of the show have now been removed, the event has held a major conversation with the cultural landscape at the intersection of fashion. For designers, navigating these nuances remains an important aspect of showing creativity on a global platform.
