NEW DELHI: South African cricket legend and SA20 ambassador Allan Donald on Monday opened up on the standout players to watch as the league gears up for its third season.
During a virtual media interaction, Donald praised Corbin Bosch, Codi Yusuf, and Kwena Maphaka, backing their potential to make a significant impact in the upcoming tournament.
Corbin Bosch, part of MI Cape Town, has earned widespread admiration for his performances with the Titans in domestic cricket. Going deeper into his cricketing journey, Donald revealed, “Corbin Bosch is one of those players who has truly had a fantastic season for the Titans up north. He was rewarded recently (with an ODI debut against Pakistan) for his great work this season. He’s quick, and he’s been consistently knocking on the door. He also brings experience from the Caribbean Premier League, and I’m absolutely chuffed for him.”

Turning his attention to Codi Yusuf, who will be donning the colours of Paarl Royals, Donald talked highly of the young quick bowler’s promise. “Codi Yusuf is a skiddy right-arm quick bowler playing for the Lions and now the Paarl Royals. There’s no doubt about his talent. He’s been on the rise, and I believe he will be a key figure in his team’s success this season,” Donald said.
Donald also shared high praise for Kwena Maphaka, another player on the Paarl Royals roster. Highlighting the left-arm pacer’s potential, he said, “Kwena Maphaka is a groundbreaking youngster everyone’s talking about. Despite being only 18, he’s already had a taste of the IPL while still at school, which is extraordinary.”
With SA20 Season 3 scheduled from January 9 to February 8, 2025, fans are eagerly anticipating high-quality cricket, and these three players are expected to be pivotal for their respective franchises.
