Snapchat’s AI video lenses are here – but only for platinum customers, how to use them


Snapchat is carrying forward its game with a brand-new feature that mixes AI with a enhanced reality (AR) to create special video effects. Called AI video lens, it is designed to bring snap to life with the latest joint animated elements. But there is a catch – it is only available to Snapchat Platinum customers.

The company first lashed out at the Snap Partner Summit Last year at the summit, where they were limited to a handful of beta testers. Now, Snapchat is opening them to wide audiences, giving more users a chance to experiment with these high-technical filters.

What’s new?

Snapchat is rolling three AI video lenses. The first two, “rakon” and “Fox”, introduce cute animated animals in Snap, which makes it look like they are moving around the user. Third, “Spring Flowers,” creates a dramatic zoom-out effect, which holds the person in the frame the vibrant bouquets of flowers.

And this is just the beginning. Snapchat has promised to add new AI lenses every week, which keeps things fresh and exciting for their premium users.

How to use them

If you are a Snapchat Platinum Customer (Rs 99 per month), you will find these lenses in front of your lens Hindola. You can also find them by name within the app. To try them, just select a lens and snap a video using your front or rear camera.

A small thing to note: AI may be slightly delayed when processing your video. But don’t worry – you won’t stare at a loading screen. You can keep using Snapchat while your video is being presented in the background. Once it is ready, the AI-related video will be saved by your memories, and from there, you can share it with friends, post it on your stories, or even facilitate it in the spotlight.
