Shatrughan Sinha is popular for always arriving late on the set. Many of his co-stars like Shabana Azmi have opened up on it and Sinha himself has admitted to it. But did you know that the actor has also advised about it to someone? In a recent interview, Chunky Pandey has revealed that Shatrughan Sinha had advised him to do so when he started out his career.
Chunky opened up on it in a recent interview with Radio Nasha, “Shatru ji told me something very nice, which I follow to date. He said, ‘Son, whatever you do, never arrive on time anywhere. If you are punctual, no one will value you. Even if you happen to be early somehow, stay in the car for 15 minutes or so. Make people wait.”
Shatrughan was a good friend of Chunky’s father and he had made his debut in ‘Aag Hi Aag’. The film starred Pandey along with Sinha, Dharmendra and Moushumi Chatterjee. The film also had Neelam.
In the same interview, Chunky also recalled his experience of working with Amitabh Bachchan. He said, “When Amit ji arrived on set on the first day of shoot in Film City, people went crazy. Although we were very nervous, he made us feel so comfortable by cracking jokes. There was so much energy and enthusiasm in him. It was after a long time that people were seeing him. I even forgot my lines while working with him.”
He confessed that he was deeply influenced by Bachchan in the initial days of his career. “When you are such a big fan of someone, it’s only natural that their mannerisms come into your system. You will start looking and behaving like them eventually,” he said.
