A senior cleric and three others were killed on Saturday in a powerful explosion on a madrasa-cum-psych in Peshawar district of Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, causing another attack on religious institutions in the region within 24 hours.

Lashkar-e-Islam’s past and Emergence of Shakir
Mufti Munir Shakir was a controversial person in the Khyber tribal area, who was known for the establishment of Lashkar-e-Islam in 2004. However, his extremist views and another terrorist leader, a struggle with Haji Namdar, led his expulsion from Bara Kambarkhel within six months.
After continuing the internal conflict, a tribal Jirga excluded both Shakir and Pir Saifur Rahman in early 2005. The group later came under the leadership of Mangal Bagh, a former bus driver replaced the terrorist, which was elevated for Amir in May 2005.
Pakistani security forces launched their first military operation against Lashkar-e-Islam in mid-2005, demolished the house’s house and destroyed an FM radio station that was installed by the group inside a mosque.
Back-to-back attacks on mosques
The explosion occurred a day after another explosion at the Maulana Abdul Aziz Mosque in South Waziristan on Friday. The attack, using an instantaneous explosive equipment (IED), was injured by Zameet Ulema-e-Islam (Jui) district head Maulana Abdullah Madem and many others.
The province has repeatedly attacked mosques, especially during Friday’s prayer when big meetings make them weak.
Last month, six people were killed in a suicide blast in Darul Uloom Haqkania Seminary, including Jui-S leader Maulana Hamidul Haqi, and injured 15 others.
Balochistan train attack
The Pakistan Army said on Friday that 18 of the 26 bounds killed in a train in a train in the Balochistan Liberation Army were 18 army and paramilitary soldiers.
