Sec. State Rubio says that the perj of USAID programs completed, 83% programs have gone

Washington – State Secretary Marco Rubio said on Monday that the Trump administration had abolished the six -week -old purse of the six -decade -old American agency programs for international development, and said he would transfer 18% aid and development programs that survived under the Department of State.

Rubio announced in a post on X. It marked one of its relatively few public comments, which has been a historical change away from American foreign aid and development, executed by Trump political appointments in the state and in the department of Alone Musk’s official efficiency teams.

In The Post, Rubio Dogi and thanked our hardworking employees who worked for a very long time to achieve this overdue and historical reform in foreign aid.

On January 20, President Donald Trump issued an executive order, directing a freeze of foreign aid funding and all billions of dollars of US aid and development work abroad. Trump alleged that most of the foreign aid was useless and upgraded a liberal agenda.

Rubio’s social media post said on Monday that the review was now “officially ending,” some of the 6,200 programs of USAID ended with 5,200.

Those programs “spent tens of billions of billions of dollars in the United States’ main national interests (and even in some cases,” Rubio wrote.

“In consultation with the Congress, we intend for the remaining 18% programs that we are keeping … to be administered more effectively under the state department,” he said. Democratic MPs and others call the shutdown of the programs funded by the Congress illegal, and such a step requires the approval of the Congress.

In one of the several cases, the State Department is struggling with its fast closure of USAID, stating that earlier this month it was killing more than 90% USAID programs. Rubio did not give any clarification as to why their number was low, and there was no description of which programs were spared or how the state department would run them.

The disintegration of the USAID followed Trump’s order that the decades of policy stated that human and development assistance upgates American national security by stabilizing areas and economies abroad, strengthening the alliance and building goodwill.

In the weeks after Trump’s order, one of the members of his appointment and transition team, Pete Maroko, and Musk away from the job through tremendous leaves and firing to USAID employees worldwide, closed USAID payments overnight and ended assistance and development contracts by thousands.

The contractors and employees running the efforts ranging from epidemic control to prevention of famine to job and democracy training stopped work. Support groups and other USAID partners closed thousands of its workers in the US and abroad.

Cases brought by some non-profit groups and businesses participating with USAID say that the form-latter contract termination parj also ended the programs that Rubio said that he wanted to save, violated the terms of the contract and violated the businesses of the dollars and bills.

Shutdown has still left many USAID employees and contractors and their families abroad, many of them are waiting for US payments and travel expenses.
