Samsung expands a UI 7 beta to more devices: Galaxy S3 series is included

Tech giant Samsung has started rolling the Android 15-based UI 7.0 beta update for its Galaxy S23 series in select areas including India, United States and South Korea. The update, which was earlier limited to the Galaxy S24 series, is now available to users of Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra, who want to test Samsung’s latest custom interface before their official release.

According to the user report on Samsung’s community forums, the beta update is currently available for only unlocked models. In India, the Galaxy S23 firmware version is receiving updates with S918bxxu8zyc3, while Galaxy S23+ and Galaxy S23 Ultra respectively are receiving firmware versions S918Boxm8zyc3 and S918BXXU8DYC3. The update also includes March 2025 security patch, which ensures the latest security promotion.

A UI 7 beta update, in approximately 4.6GB size, introduces several improvements, including an increase in Samsung’s Galaxy AI features. Users can expect advanced writing aid equipment, better call transcription capabilities and a ‘Now Bar’ introduction, which highlights relevant activities in various apps. Additionally, the update brings a fresh home screen, redeemned widget, a new lock screen layout and an updated camera interface.

Allegedly, people who are interested in trying the beta version can enroll through Samsung members app. However, with any beta software, users are strongly advised to support their important data before proceeding with installation to avoid potential data loss or stability issues.

Samsung has confirmed that the One UI 7 beta program has already been extended to the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and the Galaxy Z Flip 6. This update is expected to reach more equipment soon, including the Galaxy Tab S10 series and the Galaxy A55. A stable version of a UI7 is estimated to roll out globally from April.
