Rajkumar Hirani is known for making some unique Bollywood films, such as ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’, ‘Legee Rao Munna Bhai’, and ‘3 Idiots’. In an interview recently, Rajkumar shared that he faced some difficulties in making Aamir Khan-starrer ‘PK’, as the film eventually began to show an unknown similarity for Christopher Nolan’s ‘Inception’.
In an interview with Galata Plus, the filmmaker shared how similarities became clear when Insection hits theaters during the ‘PK’s scripting phase’.
‘Inception’ was released while working on Aamir Khan-Starr’s script, and he felt that the film’s statement was similar to Nolan’s classic. The basic concept of ‘PK’ revolves around the idea of changing human experiences and perceptions. The hero had the ability to enter people’s minds and revise their previous experiences, finally shape his attitude on life. This idea is associated with the notion that the blasphemy is a by -product of living experiences, and if those experiences can be changed, a person’s perspective will also change. “So we realized that if you do this, it would seem that we have copied the inception,” Hirani Explained. To unknowingly avoid equality, the team re -acted to the script and detected a court room setting for the second half of the film. However, before they could finalize it, Akshay Kumar’s ‘OMG – Oh My God’ was released, and Hirani realized that his new version also said that the film. So he had to change the second half of ‘PK’.
Constant rewriting led several versions of the story, and even after filming, Hirani was not fully satisfied with the result. He said, “Then we shot it again for 20 minutes, so put all these things together.”
Aamir Khan, Anushka Sharma, Sushant Singh Rajput, and Sanjay Dutt, ‘PK’ became one of the most critical films of all times.
