President Donald Trump’s administration is carrying forward Kiev to give concessions in search of a peace deal to end Russia’s three -year -old invasion. The White House also wants Ukraine to sign off to sign a controversial minerals, in which Trump has implicated the billions of American aids sent to Ukraine since 2022.
Kiev has repeatedly stated that he will not accept any deal which does not include solid safety guarantee to prevent the future repeating Russian aggression.
Trump has implicated Ukraine and his President Volodimier Zelansky as the main obstacle for peace, incorrectly convicting Ukraine to initiate a war, demanding to reduce the validity of Zelancesi and align with false stories of Moscow around the conflict. The US has demanded Ukraine to push Ukraine on the conversation table by freezing military aid and some intelligence sharing.
State Secretary Marco Rubio – who will participate in Tuesday’s talks, said on Monday, “The most important thing we have to leave here is a strong feeling that Ukraine is ready to do hard work.”
Rubio said that Russians are going to do “difficult tasks”, although Trump and his top officials have not told what concessions Moscow could be asked to make. The US and Russian negotiators first met in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia last month.
Zelansky visited Saudi Arabia on Monday to meet Crown Prince and D Facto ruler Mohammed bin Salman. Zelansky will not participate in a conversation with the US delegation on Tuesday.
Zelansky said that after the meeting of the two leaders, the social media post had “detailed discussion with Salman on the steps and conditions required to end the war and secure a reliable and permanent peace.
“I especially emphasized the release of prisoners and the issue of return of our children, which could become an important step in building confidence in diplomatic efforts. A significant part of the discussion was dedicated to the formats of security guarantee,” Zelancesi said.

Zelansky said that a Ukrainian delegation would be “formed” in the country on Tuesday to “work with the US team”. Zelansky said he expects “practical results” from the US-Ukraine meeting.
“Ukraine’s position in these talks will be completely creative,” he said.
A source close to Zelansky confirmed ABC News that Ukraine would propose a partial ceasefire in his conversation with the US. The partial ceasefire would apply to long distance air strikes and attacks in the sea, the formula said.
The deadline for the Trus is not clear.
The source said, “We want to propose a partial ceasefire, which can be monitored and then see how the Russians reacted to determine the next stages.”
Rubio told reporters on Monday that he saw some promise in Ukraine’s partial ceasefire proposal.
“I am not saying that alone is enough, but this is the kind of concession that you will need to look to end,” he said.
Rubio said that finalizing the mineral deal with Ukraine was “an important subject, but it is not the main subject on the agenda.”
“This is definitely a deal that the President wants to do, but it is not necessary that tomorrow is not necessary,” he said. “There is still more details to work.”
Meanwhile, drones and missiles appear to be ready to continue the night exchange.
Ukraine’s Air Force said its forces tracked an Iskander ballistic missile and 126 drones fired in the country overnight. The missile and 79 drones were shot, the Air Force said, another 35 UAVs were lost in flight without any impact.
The statement said that Donetsk, Odessa, Kharkiv, Sumi and Kiev were affected.
