E-SCV Division of Montra Electric, Tivolt Electric Vehicle Private Limited has inaugurated its manufacturing plant for Electric Small Commercial Vehicles (E-SCVs) at Ponnery, Chennai.
The facility has an annual production capacity of 50,000 vehicles, catering for small and light commercial vehicles (SCV/LCV) segments. Located near the Kolkata highway, and 35 km from the city of Chennai, the plant is designed to serve the increasing demand for permanent transport solutions in India, the company said in a statement.
Arun Murugappan, executive president of India Limited Tube Investments (TII), said, “We are committed to innovative and sustainable clean dynamics solutions. Montra Electric has been at the forefront of India’s EV change, and this plant takes a significant step forward in our journey. ,
“As we prepare for the future, we are firm to make a meaningful contribution to India’s goal of achieving pure zero carbon emissions by 2070,” he said.

The launch of this plant not only strengthens our production capabilities, but also strengthens our commitment to provide industry-agron EV solutions. ,
The new inauguration plant will mainly manufacture the latest product of Montra Electric, Eviaater in the E-SCV segment.
It has a certified range of 245 km and real life limit of 170 km. The company said that the product category has 80 kW and a torque of 300 Nm.
The vehicle comes with an extended warranty of up to 7 years or 2.5 lakh kilometers, which ensures reliability and longevity.
It is further equipped with advanced telematics, providing more than 95% fleet uptime, making it a ‘game-changer’ in small commercial vehicle location, the company said.
