East-Central Banker Mark Carney was formally sworn in as Canadian Prime Minister on Friday, keeping him in a position to fight the tariff from US President Donald Trump that could destroy the trade-dependent Canadian economy.

In the presence of King Charles’s Individual Representative Governor General Mary Simon, Carney took the oath of office.

The moment reduced a significant growth for the 59 -year -old, which became the first Canadian Prime Minister without any serious political experience.

Carney planned to travel to London and Paris next week, a diplomat said that plans are known. Canada has sought to sideline the alliance in Europe as its relationship for unprecedented climbing with the United States.

Carney has re -shaped his cabinet to deal with Washington. Finance Minister Dominic Labbank is going to the International Trade Portfolio and will be replaced by current innovation minister Francois-Filip Champagne.

In the race to become the leader of the ruling Liberal Party, Carney crushed his rivals on Sunday. He replaces Justin Trudeau, who spent more than nine years in the office.

Carney, a former head of the Bank of Canada and the Bank of England, argued his position as an outsider with the history of successfully dealing with the crisis, which means he was the best person to take on Trump, who has repeatedly talked about Annexing of Canada.

On Wednesday, Carney told reporters that he was ready to meet Trump when “Canadian is an honor for sovereignty”.

He also said that he would place an anti -anticipatory tariff on American goods until the United States showed some respect to Canada.

Canadian External Affairs Minister Melani Jolie told reporters on Friday that efforts are being made to arrange a call between Trump and Carney in the next few days.

Carney is due to the name of a cabinet that will probably not be in the office for a long time, as liberal internal sources say he would call a snap election within the next two weeks.

If he changes his mind, the opposition parties say that they would unite to bring down the minority liberal government in a belief vote in the end of March.

Once called the election, Carney will be very limited that he can do politically because the convention decides that he cannot take a big decision while running for the office.

Opinion polls currently suggest that it would be a close race with official opposition conservatives, nor the party won enough seats for the majority government.
