New Delhi: India’s Laxman gets out of Sen All England Badminton Championships After a straight-game defeat for Chinese world number 6 Lee shhi feng In men’s single quarterfinals on Friday. The 2022 finalist, who missed an Olympic medal in Paris last year, was dropped from 10–21, 16–21 in a 45-minute encounter.
Rank World No. 15, Sen won his last two matches against Lee, including Thomas Cup. However, this time, he fought against his familiar Chinese rival from the junior category of 2018.

Feng quickly dominated, wrapped the first game in just 17 minutes. To play with composition and avoid unnecessary risks, he took a 9–4 lead with a powerful smash and entered the break with a benefit of 11–4. Sen’s unsuccessful reviews left him 4–12, but a brief resurrection made him a deficit with a sharp cross-court smash to 7–12. Nevertheless, Feng quickly adjusted, mixing its speed and strategy to skill the game.
Sen showed improvement in the second game, but could not match the continuation of Feng. Initially 2–5 behind, Sen fought back with better net play, taking a 10–8 lead after a fierce 37-shot rally. He maintained a thin three-point lead on the brake and worked hard in a tight competition, in which the marathon 44-shot exchange tied the score to 14-All. However, Feng’s aggression proved to be decisive as it proceeded 17–15 with a powerful smash.
At 15–18, Sen faced finger injuries, blowing blood in court and medical attention, leading to a brief stagnation. However, the brake greatly reduced the feng’s speed as they sealed the match with another thunder.
Despite the disadvantage, Sen’s campaign was commendable, to avenge its semi-final defeat in Indonesian last year, was exposed to his amazing straightforward-game victory to defend Jonatan Christie.
With this victory, the Feng proceeds to face the winner between Shi You Qi and Singapore’s Loh Keen U in the semi -finals.
Meanwhile, India’s doubles pair Satvikasairaj RandidD and Chirag Shetty withdrew due to injury, Malvika Banansode bowed into women’s singles, and Ruhan Kapoor’s mixed doubles pair and Ruthvika Shivani Gadde also decreased.
