Scray! 76-year-old Rep John Larson freezes mid-speech, team says must be because of new medicine
Conneticut Rep John Larson froze during his speech on the House of Representatives floor.

Democrat Congressman Rep John Larson was seen freezing during his speech on the House of Representatives floor as he expressed concern over Social Security as Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency has access to payment information from the administration.
“Don’t worry, no one on the Republican side of the House and US Senate who control both the House and Senate is going to speak up…” he said and then after a long pause added, “and challenge us…” And then there was a long pause as the Connecticut Rep stood still lost in thoughts or looking for what next to say. And then as he slowly found his words back, his speech became disjointed, slow and slurry. “But we need to….protect Americans privacy and…their social security,” Larson struggled to say those words before his time expired.

Adverse reaction to a medicine?

After the video went viral with social media users questioning the Rep’s well-being, his team said it was probably a side-effect of a new medicine that he had started. The statement said after the episode, he was fine and attended multiple meetings with alertness.
“Congressman Larson appreciates the well wishes from everyone who has reached out. This afternoon, he had what was likely an adverse reaction to a new medication and is having tests administered by the House Attending Physician out of an abundance of caution,” his team wrote in a statement.
“He later participated in multiple meetings in his office and was alert and engaged. The Congressman remains in touch with his staff and in good spirits,” they added.
Social media users said what he experienced looked like a pre-stroke and that he was too old to continue his senate job. Recently, 82-year-old Republican Senator Mitch McConnell fell down the Senate stairs.
