Tel Aviv-Israeli Air Force on Thursday hit the headquarters of Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorist organization in Damascus, Syria, after overthrowing Bashar al-Assad after al-Qaeda rebellion amidst the ongoing instability in the country.

Jonathan Spire, director of research at the Middle East Forum, who reported from Syria, told Fox News Digital that Jerusalem aims to remain decentralized and weak rather than united under the leadership of Jihadi forces for Syria.

Israel is reportedly putting pressure on the Trump administration to ensure that Syria is fragmented, giving the Russians a green light to maintain its bases in the country to combat Turkey.

“HTS is an organization that Israel knows well. It was for many years before Assad’s fall and shows that it is a Sunni jihadi Islamist organization (Hamas’) October 7 (massacre) and in opposition to Israel and Jews,” Spier said.
