Frank McCafree was allegedly fired as a men’s basketball head coach at the University of Iowa after running the program after a 15 -year program on Friday.

A few minutes after McCafi’s firing was reported by several outlets, his son Connor, a former Iowa player, the current Butler Male Basketball Assistant Head Coach and Boyfriend of Calin Clarke, posted three clown emojis on X.
Conor’s last two x posts were a retweet of a festive post of his father, who reached 200-victory in Iowa on a video of his father’s emotional interview after winning the Rutgers in February in February.
Connor played for Frank in Iowa for six sessions from 2017-23.

During his six sessions, Connor played in 166 games, which ranks second in Iowa history. He dealt with injuries during most of his college career, but a redsirt year and Kovid -19 campaign allotted him six seasons eligibility.
He reached the NCAA tournament in each of his full season besides his covid season. He took an average of 4.5 points and three rebounds, and played in 111 wins, binding Jordan Bohanon for the most time in the history of the program. His career assist-to-turnover ratio of 3.59 (527 assistance 147 assist 147 assist 147 in the history of NCAA).

Iowa is also the place where Connor met Clarke when she was acting for the women’s team by 2020-24. The couple began dating in April 2023 in April 2023 after leading Iowa on one run for the NCAA title game. Connor was a senior at that time and started his coaching career after graduating.
