The Indian Embassy in the United States issued an advice on a fraud call stating that the cheating, pretending to be from the embassy, gave people a call to cheat them.

The embassy clarified that if any additional documentation is necessary from an existing applicant, this email domain would be asked through email (s) generated from @mea.gov.in.
The Embassy of India advised the public not to entertain any suspected telephone calls made in their name and also do not transfer any money to reveal any personal information or in response to such calls.
