“This is my annual visit to Ramadan, this time with Rohingya refugees and in solidarity with Bangladeshi, who hosts them so generously,” Mr. Guterres told reporters in the Cox Bazaar.
During his visit, the General Secretary said he had heard two major messages of refugees: his desire to return safely to Myanmar and his need for better circumstances in camps.
However, he warned that human support is in serious threat after the deduction declared by major donors including the United States and several European countries.
,We are in danger of cutting food ration in this camp,” He said.
,I can promise that we will do everything to avoid it And I will talk to all countries of the world who can support us to ensure that money has been provided. ,
Bangladesh is hosting more than a million Rohingya refugees who fled from violence in neighboring Myanmar. The largest migration after the cruel attacks by Myanmar security forces in 2017 described Zid Raid Al-Husain as a “textbook example of ethnic cleaning” for the then United Nations High Commissioner Human Rights.
The world can’t do its back
The general secretary emphasized that the international community could not return to the Rohingya crisis.
,We cannot accept that the international community forgets about Rohingyas,” He said.
,My voice will talk loudly to the international community that we need more support immediate support Because this population needs badly to be able to be able to stay in dignity here in Bangladesh. ,
He called upon the world leaders to give priority to peace and justice in Myanmar.
,It is necessary that the international community does everything to ensure that peace is restored in Myanmar and the rights of Rohingyas are respected.Like the discrimination and oppression that we have seen in the past, it will end. ,
