New Delhi: After India’s conquest over New Zealand to win the ICC Champions Trophy title, all -rounder Hardik Pandya recalled his late father, admitting that his blessings have played an important role in his success.
Hardik gave another impressive performance in a major tournament, which contributed to both bat and ball to India’s winning campaign. He scored 99 runs in four innings with a top 45 score, and took four wickets. His frequent performance in the ICC tournament confirmed his reputation as a reliable match-winner for men in Blue.
While reflecting his journey, Hardik spoke emotionally during the match conversation with the media.
“From where we (he and his brother Krunal Pandya, who have also played for India), all this was just a dream for us. We never thought about it. I think we can only thank God and keep working hard, and he blesses us for our parents, we are with us that we are with us.
The Champions Trophy 2025 win was particularly especially for Hardik, as it fulfilled the long -standing aspiration.
Eight years ago, in the 2017 final against Pakistan, he played a brilliant knock of 76 in a challenging chase of 339 runs, but was reduced by lifting the trophy.
Now, with this title in hand, he finally feels the feeling of closure.
He said, “These eight years have been so long. A lot has happened. Also, India’s victory has been very important for me. If this happens, I hope everyone has come back home and celebrating,” he said.
Hardik also shared insight into his mindset as a senior player, emphasizing that he never distinguishes between senior citizens and juniors in the team.
“Whatever I have learned in my career so far in 9-10 years, if I am able to share my experiences with new people, I am not just helping him, but only helping my team. If I am able to contribute even 1 percent and that player is able to perform better, it is always my mindset,” he said.
Accepting the challenges he has faced in both life and cricket, Hardik always expressed his philosophy of facing obstacles.
“If you don’t leave the battlefield, you will have a chance. If you go home and cry, you will not be able to see the result. If you dive, you will be able to stop the ball. If you don’t, you will not be able to do this. You have helped me both life and cricket,” he said.
Speaking of his role as an all -rounder, Hardik revealed that Bowling holds a special place in his heart.
“If Hardik is bowling, I don’t have to worry about my batting because it can take care of myself. I have prepared myself for sports conditions. I was fond of hitting sixes since the age of 14. I did not have power then, but now I have power. It is my hard work that is paying hard work that is paying,” he said.
While discussing his unwavering self-confidence, he emphasized the importance of trust and preparation.
“If you do not trust yourself, how can others trust you? I have always trusted myself. I have always prepared behind the curtain. What you prepare, it is reflected in your game. It is reflected in your game. While keeping my calm, look at the ball and then hit what it’s in your arc,” he said.
Hardik also highlighted the collective spirit within the Indian team, stating that success is never about individuals, but is about celebrating each other’s achievements.
“We believe that everyone can do something magical,” he concluded.
