Former Philippine President Rodrigo Dutee was served an interpol arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court on Tuesday, on arrival at Manila’s main airport, the government said.

The ICC has stated that it will pursue an investigation into suspected crimes against humanity related to the role of Duterte under the supervision of “Drugs on Drugs”, which kills thousands of Philipinos.

Duterte said in Hong Kong on Monday that if the ICC issued a warrant, he agreed to be arrested and repeatedly defended drug anti-drugs Crackdown. He refused to order the police to kill drug suspects until he is in self -defense.

The office of President Ferdinand Marcos Junior said it received an official copy of the warrant, which was served by the police on the dutarte. Duterte was now in custody, he said in a statement.

Former Dootrt’s legal lawyer Salvador Panlo said the arrest was illegal, and said that the police did not allow one of his lawyers to meet the Dutert at the airport.

Firebrand Dutee withdrew to the Philippines from the ICC founding Treaty in 2019, when it began looking at allegations of orderly extraordinary murders, and the Philippines refused to cooperate in the ICC investigation by last year.

The “Drugs on Drugs” was a signature campaign policy, which in 2016 was shed in power as a Mavement, Crime-Busting Mayor, who brought to the promises made during vitriolic speeches to kill thousands of drug dealers.

According to the police, 6,200 suspects were killed during the anti -drug operations that they say that they ended in the shootout. But the activists say that the real toll of the crack was far more, with thousands of slumland drug users, many of which were included in the official “watch list”, who were killed in mysterious circumstances.

The police denies participation in those murders and reject allegations from systematic execution and cover-up rights groups.
