Bengaluru: Global capacity center IT service is rapidly recruiting talent from companies, with almost half the workforce, now these firms are directly sour. Data from HR Consultancy Exfane indicates that GCC has revised its recruitment approach, including experienced professionals and new graduates.
Recent data shows that GCC now shows 45–48% source of its workforce from IT firms, above 35% in 2022-23. They provide a premium salary of 20% to 30% compared to firms for those working in emerging areas such as clouds, data and analytics. In cyber security and AI, GCC technology maintains 10% to 15% more compensation for major positions than IT companies despite the overall recession in the hiring segment. “Tier-1 players’ talent dominates the corridor of the talent movement from IT services to GCC. Mid-Tier players did relatively to the ring fencing and maintained their talent in the absorption of the corridor by the GCC. Mid-tier players lose talent for GCC, and a 30-70, a 30-70, between the current movement.
Both new and extended GCC are recruiting in India, where their 75% of their technology operations are based. According to HR Consultancy NLB Services, these centers are expanding in emerging places such as Coimbatore and Jaipur beyond the traditional hub. These cities have developed adequate technical talent pools due to the presence of IT service companies.
ANSR’s cofounder Vikram Ahuja noted that GCCs are partnered with finishing schools to secure candidates with specific skill sets with schools. He said that campus recruitment is not his primary attention. “Over the last two to three years, the exploitation of finishing schools has increased from a negligible 5% to about 10%. In the next two to three years, I think it will increase by 20%. For a long time, this section will make a great deal in GCC’s needs, as the product is very competition in the tech market with firms, startups and services.”
Senior level recruitment With reporting more than 100 VPS, AVPS, and SVPS with Xpheno, it moves beyond IT services up to GCCs within a year. It represents a senior workforce of 10% IT services, moving to product companies and startups with other senior fare, mainly operated by better compensation. According to Quas Corp, IT Staffing CEO Kapil Joshi, GCC Technology Leadership positions provide 14% more compensation than IT peers, while CFOs get 12% higher, and HR leaders earn 25% more package than IT firms.
