Former teacher of Mysuru arrested for stealing precious gold items in Bengaluru

On March 10, Subramanian Nagar Police arrested a 64 -year -old teacher from Mysuru and recovered 78 grams of gold and 12 grams of diamond bracelets at a price of ₹ 8 lakhs, which he allegedly stolen from a gold exhibition in Bengaluru.

The accused are residents of Zaheera Fattima, Udayagiri. She lives alone after her husband’s death and is suffering from a heart problem.

He worked as a teacher in the Gulf for a few years. Police said that she returned to her hometown during the Kovid epidemic and has been unemployed since then.

He decided to steal and sell precious gold items. She will investigate social media to find gold exhibitions in Bangalore. She will like and subscribe to him to receive the notification.

After receiving the invitation, she will visit the exhibition as a potential customer and steal precious items after the employees attract attention.

She went to an exhibition that Dr. in Subramanya Nagar. It was held at a hotel on Rajkumar Road, and allegedly stole a pair of a diamond bracelet and a pair of ₹ 4.7 lakh.

Based on a complaint filed by the manager of a gold shop, the police analyzed the CCTV footage. He recognized Zaheera Fatthima as a potential suspect and studied his Modus Operanday.

A police team was posted at a hotel on Race Course Road where an jewelery exhibition was held. The suspect visited the exhibition and was allegedly caught with red hand. Initially, he refused to accept his previous crime. He faced with CCTV footage.

Based on his confession, the police team recovered a diamond bracelet from his house. He had wiped the rest of the valuables in two gold shops in Mysuru.

He was produced in court and sent to judicial custody.

Appreciating the investigation team, Bangalore Police Commissioner B. Dayanand announced a cash reward of ₹ 10,000 to the police team.
