Chhava, a historic drama of Vicky Kaushal, continued his impressive run at the Indian box office, giving equal praise from the audience and critics. According to the initial estimates of Sacnilk.com, on its 20th day, the film purified about Rs 5.75 crore in all languages.
Now in its third week, Chhawa has maintained a stable grip at the box office. The film was initially opened in its first week with a strong collection of Rs 219.25 crore, followed by Rs 180.25 crore in the second. As it is near the end of its third week, its estimated earnings have reached Rs 78.15 crore, causing the total collection of Rs 477.65 crore.
With the increasing trend of films for direct-to-digital release, Chhawa has capitalized on her dramatic release and is on track to cross a 500 million milestone. If it achieves this achievement, it will mark Kaushal’s first film to enter the prestigious 500 crore club, making it the highest -grossing film of his career.
The film has also gained political recognition, Maharashtra Minister Aditi Sunil Tatkere has organized a special screening for MLAs and MLC. “Chhawa was recently released, and we felt that all our MLAs and members of the council should definitely see it. Therefore, we organized a special screening during the session, with immense support from artists, production and distributors, ”Tatkere told ANI.
Directed by Laxman YouTekar, Chhawa includes Vicky as Emperor Aurangzeb as well as Akshaye Khanna. The film also stars Rashmika Mandanna and Divya Dutta.
Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Speaker Rahul Narvekar also praised the film, called it a “unprecedented” work that highlights history for the younger generation. “The film presents history in an attractive way. My best wishes to all artists and production teams, ”he commented.
