The West Bengal government has done a 4-day internet shutdown in this district amid violence.


Residents of Birbam district of West Bengal will not be able to use internet and voice-online telephony services by 17 March. The authorities decided to suspend internet services in at least five gram panchayat areas of Santia Town to prevent the spread of rumors and illegal activities, informing news agency Annie.
