The students described the trip to the University of Vanderbult University, Nashville as a rich learning experience for the project, as they shared ideas and ideas with students and ideas with the prestigious faculty of other parts of the world.
“It is inspiring to be in a huge campus. We can cover only half of the department during our week -long stay. This art was no less than a privilege to visit the Museum with a unique and rich collection of functions on climate change. We loved the innovation center – Wondri – where you can find out ideas and share, ”said Ms. Harshita and Ms. Ashwini.
His visit included a trip to the ‘Cani Fork Farms’, where traditional agricultural practices are followed to produce healthy food for the local community.
‘Greenthon’
Ms. Teja talked about ‘Greenthon’ at the University of Vendorbult, as part of which students carry forward ideas to make their diversity more sustainable. “Each participating team was given two minutes to pitch their thoughts, which if selected, get money.
Mr. Karthikeya said that he likes innovative practices like a special power plant besides solar panels. “Vendorbult University is on a mission to cut its carbon emissions up to zero in the next 10 years and every student is working towards achieving this goal,” he says.
The students said that they were planning to implement some such ideas in their college campus.
“We plan to grow plants at hydroponic stands like they do at the University of Vanderbilts and use those vegetables in hostel kitchens here. The waste separation at the source is another good idea to repeat here and ban single-use plastic in the premises, ”said Ms. Harshita and NS. Ashwini said, who is part of the ‘Green Club’ in his college.
New idea
As part of the program, the students made a presentation on the Cigrass Project at the Vanderbult University before a team of professors. Although we got only two minutes, we got a positive response and the professors made more inquiries about the project.
“The best part of the tour was to share ideas with students from other countries. We also met many climate activists at American senators Kori Booker and Peter Welch, and Washington DC, ”Ms. Harshita said.
The Bangladesh team presented an idea to reduce the waste of fabric by appointing women from the financially poor background and generating livelihood options.
Students of West Pakistan introduced an idea on the traditional agricultural practices of Africa to convert barren land into fertile people.
“It was a very good learning experience. This tour taught us to create a high goal and work hard. We want to pursue our work to repeat climate research, global warming and Cigras,” said Ms. Harshita.
