Anita Advani Rajesh met Khanna when she was just a teenager, while she was already an established film star. In an interview recently, he opened his first encounter and how his bond developed over the years. Although Rajesh was not always expressive about her feelings, Anita said that she always knows that she cannot live without her. According to him, he constantly needed his presence, to the extent that he started a cafe, he forced him to stop a “havoc”.
Talking to mid-day, Anita recalled her first meeting. She was a teenager when a friend’s uncle offered her to take her to a film set. However, after remembering Rajesh Khanna in shooting, he went to his house and managed to meet him through a connection. For the first time, Anita was left with a permanent impression on seeing the superstar. He felt “very impressed” and shared how the only look from Rajesh made him “nervous”.
“He asked,” Acha, do you want to see the shoot? ” Then he looked and checked me. I got very nervous, my heartbeat was moving and I did not know what to do. Nevertheless, he suddenly changed. That impression is still in my mind. I can still imagine it, ”he remembered. Although he was in touch for years, Anita started dating Rajesh much later in life.
Asked if Rajesh was romantic at heart, Anita confirmed, “Absolutely.” He explained that when he was not very vocal, his actions spoke the volume. Considering the ways of expressing her love, Anita revealed, “He won’t say that I love you all the time. He was not of that type. I could tell that he could not live without me. Like if I went out, he would call me 20 times. I opened a cafe and he wreaked havoc, “he said. When the interviewer asked if he had to shut the cafe because of him, Anita nodded in the agreement.
Rajesh Khanna died in 2012 at the age of 69. He married his wife, Dimple Kapadia all his life, although he separated after a decade of the 1973 wedding. The couple had two daughters, Twinkle and Rinke.
