London – London (AP) – John Lennon is being honored in a particularly mint British coin collection, which was 85 years old to mark Beatles Great and Peace Advocate, Royal Mint said on Friday.
The coin, which will go on sale on Monday, is a picture of Lennon in 1974 based on a famous image taken by music industry photographer Bob Grune.
It depicts a side profile of Lennon taken on the roof of his penthouse in New York. Lennon was shot dead on 8 December 1980 by Mark David Chapman on 8 December 1980 at the age of 40.
The name of Lennon appears to the left of the picture, while the word “Imagine” released in 1971, on the right of the design in the context of its single and album, after the Fab Four – Lennon, Paul Mekartney, George Harrison and Ringo Star – effectively left their way, left their indelible mark in the 1960s.
Rebecca Morgan, director of the memorial coin in the Royal Mint, said, “One of the greatest singers and lyricists of all time continues to live on the achievements of Lennon as an artist, activist and Advocate for Peace and will now be remembered on a coin forever.”
The Royal Mint, who has killed the coins of the Emperor of Alfred the Great in the ninth century through King Charles III, has a “music legend” coin series, which celebrates singers and lyricists. Lennon follows the choice of Mekartney, David Bovi, Queen, The Rolling Stones and Shirley Bassi in being honored on a royal mint coin.
Lennon’s fans and coin collectors will be able to buy coins from Royal Mint’s website from Monday. They will be available in many precious metals including gold, as well as various colors.
Prices for a five -pound autocratic coin up to 6,420 pounds ($ 8,330) for a semi -coin of 200 pounds will start at 18.50 pounds ($ 24).
Although the legal tender, but with the price difference, this is not possible – if not irrational – to buy coins to buy for anyone, “The White Album.”
