China is raising the issue to connect Tariff with Fentanyl with Trump’s move

Beijing – US President Donald Trump threw a curve ball in China by connecting his tariff on imports. The Chinese government is swinging back.

It first released a report, which gave details of its efforts to control the illegal trade in the Phenanel, especially the material for the opioid made in China. Then, the Chinese Foreign Minister exploded the US to respond with a tariff with the goodwill of Beijing. And this week, Chinese officials expressed their anger in a rare background briefing with journalists.

“In the spirit of humanity, China assisted the US in various ways,” Foreign Minister Wang Yi last week told reporters in an annual presence before the media. “America should not get good with evil or not even arbitrary tariffs. No responsible major country should do so.”

Trump cited the Phantanile issue as a 10% tariff on all Chinese imports in early February at the top of any existing duties. He doubled 20% earlier this month. He has also cited Phantanelle for other reasons for putting tariffs on Canada and Mexico.

In his executive order on the first 10% tariff, Trump accused China of exporting fentasical companies and the respective “precursor chemicals” and providing a safe shelter for Chinese criminal organizations that reduce revenue from opioid trade.

Subsidy to industries is not uncommon for Chinese government, and precursor chemicals are also used to make legal pain relievers. But some production finds a way for Mexican drug cartels that make fennel and send it to the United States.

The statement said, “Despite several attempts to resolve this crisis at its original source through bilateral dialogues, the PRC officer has failed to follow through the decisive tasks required to prevent the flow of chemicals for known criminal cartel,” the statement said that China has mentioned China for the republic of China.

The Chinese government put tariffs on both times Trump with its duties on select American products and other measures aimed at American companies. Analysts have described the response as a measured, designed to try to avoid growth of trade war, which can give a blow to already dull Chinese economy.

The government’s report on their fentinel-related works stated that China and the US have held several high-level meetings since the beginning of last year to promote cooperation, and that its drug control bureau has regularly exchangeed with the US drug enforcement agency.

China is committed to cooperation, the report stated, “But the pretext of reacting to the fennel-related issues is strongly opposed to illegal sanctions on China and American imposing inappropriate pressure on China.”

Under the former President Joe Biden, cooperation on Fentaneel was resumed in early 2024 after being victimized by geopolitics in 2022. In August of that year, a top American MLA, the then house speaker Nancy Pelosi, angrily responded to a border with a border by the government and the government.

A coordination in the late 2023, interacted in several months, a meeting was held on Fentanile in January last year. Drug enforcement, like climate, was conducted as an area where the two countries could cooperate despite increasing differences and their military, economic and technical competition.

Now Trump is trying to move the playground in the US-China relationship after a four-year gap, back to the White House. So far, China has indicated that it will not blink the eyelid.

“If the American side goes down from this wrong path, we will fight till the end,” Commerce Minister Wang Wang Wono said last week.
