Virginia HS track runner accused of attack after cursing rival’s head


Virginia High School Track and Field Athletes, who were seen cursing a rival’s head with baton during a race, is accused of attack and battery, confirmed Fox News Digital by the Attorney Office of Lynchburg Commonwealth.

Athlete Alila Everett, a student of IC Norcom High School, was seen breaking her baton on the head of Junior Kalen Tucker of Brookville High School during a championship meet last week. The footage of the incident went viral in the next days, causing national dispute and backlash against Everett.

Tucker was later diagnosed with a fusion and possible skull fracture.

Tucker and his family members certainly did not say if they press the allegations against Everett after the incident in an interview with WSET ABC 13. However, the allegations are now officially suppressed, as Everett has faced a rape count and battery.

Averett has since been said that the hit was accidental, in an interview with Wavy and “Good Morning America”.

Prior to the allegations being announced on the average, Partsmouth Naacp issued a statement on Wednesday, issuing a statement.

The statement said, “Alela is not an attacker and media headlines, which is embarrassing in any way. We understand the sensitivity of situations for both athletes and their families, but the story should not go unknowingly,” the statement says.

“Alila is an honor student and a star athlete at the Historical IC Norkom High School. With all accounts, she is an extraordinary young leader and scholar whose athletic talent is well documented and recognized in our state. He has taken himself as guilty of any criminal activity and any criminal activity.”

Fox News has reached Aleret’s family through the district for digital comment.

Tucker recalled the incident in an interview with WSET ABC 13 last Friday, and said that when he sees the baton repeatedly cursing the baton, the whole section gasp.

“She was like a hysterical because she could not just believe what happened.”

Averett claims that the hits took place because he lost his balance and his baton was “stuck” behind his opponent’s back.

Averett said in an interview, “Shortly after killing her, my baton got stuck behind her back, and it rolled her back. When I pumped my arms again I lost my balance. She became a hit.” Wavy with“I know my intentions and I will never kill anyone with this purpose.”

Averett also said that when he caused physical pain for a tucker, the atellar does not have enough sympathy to his “mental” effect.

Virginia High School League (VHSL) first issued a statement to Fox News Digital on the matter.

“VHSL does not comment on individuals or disciplinary tasks due to FERPA,” the league’s statement said. “The action taken by the meat director to disqualify the runner was appropriate and correct. We fully review every example that involves players safety with the participating schools. VHSL membership has always made a priority to provide a safe environment for competition to student-athletes.”
