“Sheikh Hasina is returning as Prime Minister. The younger generation has made a mistake, but it is not their fault, she has been manipulated …” he said while talking to ANI.
Revolting the Hasina rule topped as a “terrorist rebellion” last year, Alam said: “Bangladesh is being attacked and needs to be addressed by the international community. A political rebellion is fine, but it is not what is going on in Bangladesh. It is a terrorist rebellion.”
He said, “Many of our leaders have been given shelter here in India, and we are very grateful to the Government of India for providing alignment. I also thank PM Narendra Modi for providing a safe travel route for our Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. We are grateful to the people of India …” He said.
Hasina ran away from Bangladesh last year and took refuge in India after witnessing violent clashes against the government on the Civil Services Recruitment Rules.
After Hasina’s expulsion, Mohammad Yunus became the head of the interim government, who requested India for extradition of Hasina. He recently claimed that India “did not give any official response” in exchange for extradition requests. The evicted PM is also waiting for trials in crimes against humanity, he said.
Asking Yunse to quit the post, Alam said, “We want to ask Bangladesh advisor to go down and return to return … Sheikh Hasina is returning as Prime Minister. The younger generation has made a mistake, but it’s not their mistake, they have been manipulated …”
Hasina has been accused of using security forces and police for kidnapping, torture and killing hundreds of activists. However, she refutes these claims, saying that she is being targeted for political harassment.
