Holi, The Vibrant Hindu Festival of Colors, Friday, will be celebrated on Friday, March 14, 2025. The festival will begin on Thursday, March 13, 2025 with Holika Dahan (also known as Choti Holi).

Dhulendi or Rangweeli Holi (March 14, 2025): Holi’s main festival includes throwing of colors, teasing, singing, dancing, and enjoying traditional behaviors such as Gujia and drinks. This day is full of lively celebrations, bringing communities together in a sense of fun and renewal.
Holika Dahan
The story is mainly based on the legend of Prahlada, a righteous follower of Lord Vishnu and his evil aunt Holika. According to Hindu mythology:
King Hiranyakashipu, father of Prahlada, was a powerful and arrogant ruler. He considered himself invincible and wanted everyone to worship him as a God.
However, his son Prahlad was a dedicated devotee of Lord Vishnu and refused to worship his father.
Hiranyakashipu got angry and tried to kill Prahlada several times. In one of her attempts, she helped her sister Holika, with a magical cloak that made her immune to set her on fire.
The plan was to sit in the fire with Prahlada on her lap, which hoped that the fire would burn Prahlad but not Holika.
However, when the fire was set, Lord Vishnu’s divine intervention protected Prahlada, and Holika, who was wearing a magical cloak, was killed, as he misused the power of the cloak.
