Investors weigh the status of American economy

The yield of American Treasury was low on Monday as investors used to wait for the busy week of major economic data and in the weekend, US President Donald Trump took to the US economy position after the comments.

ET, Benchmark at 5:51 pm 10 year old treasure yield The 5 basis fell to 4.261%than the 5 point point. 2-year-old treasure yield The 4 basis dropped to 3.96%more than the points.

A base point is equal to 0.01%, and yields and prices run in opposite directions.

Investors are expecting many economic data release this week, on the ET at 10 am on Monday with New York Fed Survey of Consumer expectations. This will be pair with the Consumer Avoidance Report of the University of Michigan University which will be published on Friday.

The big report of the week is the Consumer Price Index, which is released on ET at 7:30 am on Wednesday, as well as the manufacturer price index on Thursday. Investors will use these indicators as an important gauge for the health of the American economy.

The Chief Economist of the Commerica Bank said in a statement, “Inflation figures will dominate the economic calendar this week. The total and main consumer price index (CPI) possibility increased at a higher moderate speed after a sharp increase in the earlier month in February, resulting in the annual growth almost stable,” the Chief Economist Bill Edms of the Commerica Bank said in a statement.

Investor’s concerns raised over the weekend, as Trump commented that his tariffs could affect American development and did not reject the possibility of recession. US Treasury Secretary Scott Besent made similar comments on Friday, saying that the economy could slow down,

“Can we see that this economy which has started to roll us a little?

He said, “The market and the economy have just become hooks. We have become addicted to this government’s expenses, and a detox period is going to be,” he said.
