HHS employees offered $ 25,000, as ‘encouragement to separate voluntarily’


Employees of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) have been offered up to $ 25,000 to participate with the agency to help reduce it under the plan to reduce the federal task force of President Donald Trump.

The payment is available to most employees within HHS, including the Disease Control and Prevention Center (CDC), Medicare and Medicade Services Center (CMS), Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and National Institute of Health (NIH).

According to the OPM website, employees also have the option to take payment if they are eligible for alternative or initial retirement.

The website said, “By allowing volunteers to leave the government, agencies can reduce or avoid involuntary separation through the use of expensive and disruptive cuts,” said.

According to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, currently around 80,000 people are working in some capacity for HHS.

This proposal becomes available on Monday and the form should be submitted to local HR offices by 5 pm on Friday.

HHS is the second-most federal federal agency and according to usaspending.gov, is 20.6% of the US budget for the financial year 2025 with $ 2.4 trillion in budgetary resources. Most of that money are spent by centers for medicades and medicare services.
