The Seoul Central District Court has ordered the New Zains (NJZ) to modify and re-create its list of reasons for ending its contract with Ador, as high-profile legal dispute between the K-POP girl and their agency continues.
According to a report by the dispatch, the 50th Civil Agreement Division of the court directed the group to provide more concrete reasons and support evidence before March 14, 2025.
The legal battle took the center phase during the first hearing of Ador’s prohibition against the New Agains on 7 March, where both sides presented their arguments. A subsidiary label Ador of Hybe filed for prohibition to prevent members from engaging in independent activities, including signing brand endorsement deals, while their contract dispute is being sued.
During the hearing, the Newsians presented the 93-slide powerpoint presentation underlining their complaints, including allegations of workplace harassment and abuse within the ador. The group pleaded with the court to release him from his contract, stating that they feel unsafe and humiliated by the company officials. The members reportedly became tearful in the last minutes of their testimony, taking the emotional toll on them.
Hybe competed with a 229-slide presentation, distributed in only 10 minutes, followed by a 30-minute claims of the newsians. The Ador’s legal team argued that the contracts with the girl group were valid and their unilateral termination was unfair. He emphasized that any independent activities by members can cause confusion and financial loss to third party, warrant of prohibitory orders.
Newjeans further alleged that Hybe tried to reduce its success, citing examples where the PR team of Hybe allegedly approached foreign media, so that they could reduce the sale of their Japanese albums. The girl group claimed that Hybe was in the position of new groups such as Ilit and Le Sarafim, to replace them, an accusation in which Edor refused.
Ador presented documents to combat the claims of the group, including CCTV footage, which was dismissed by an incident where Hanny, a member of a newsians, was ignored by the members of the company in the corridors of the company. The Ador’s legal team also dismissed the allegations that Hybe had a plan to release Newjeans, blaming a former Weverse Executive to incorrectly claimed the claim of internal documents applicable internal documents. The agency said that the former CEO of New Tygs, Min Hi,, edited the documents of the select company to mislead the court.
After the hearing, the court directed the newsians to restructured its list of reasons for the termination of contract and provide strong evidence against Ador before 14 March.
