Chhaava advance booking Day 1: Vicky Kaushal starrer heading for Rs 10-crore opening; to surpass 'Uri: The Surgical Strike'

Vicky Kaushal‘s much-anticipated historical drama Chhaava is off to a flying start at the box office, with early trends indicating a strong box office opening.
The film, which has already raked in Rs 5.65 crore from advance bookings, with 2.01 lakh tickets sold across 7,446 shows. With blocked seats included, the film’s advance collection has surged past Rs7.21 crore.
Maharashtra has emerged as the biggest contributor to Chhaava’s advance sales, accounting for Rs 3.73 crore so far. When blocked seats are factored in, the state’s total collection rises to Rs 4.41 crore. Given the film’s historical and cultural significance in the region, these numbers are expected to grow further.The Hindi 2D format has been the dominant driver of ticket sales, contributing an estimated Rs 5.38 crore. The remaining collections come from premium formats such as IMAX 2D, 4DX, and ICE, indicating a wide audience interest across different viewing experiences.
With momentum building, Chhaava is well on track to achieve a Rs 10 crore opening day, which would make it one of Vicky Kaushal’s highest first-day earners. If it surpasses this mark, the film will outperform the actor’s previous blockbuster Uri: The Surgical Strike, which opened to Rs 8.20 crore on January 11, 2019.

Uri, a military drama co-starring Yami Gautam and Paresh Rawal, went on to become a massive hit, collecting Rs 245.36 crore at the domestic box office. If Chhaava maintains its pace, it could be Kaushal’s next major box office success.
With final first-day numbers yet to be confirmed, all eyes are on Chhaava to see if it can set new benchmarks for the actor and the historical drama genre.
