Customer Dharta Kalyan Foundation has taken action against five outlets in the Darsina Kannada district of Karnataka, which is said to provide domestic gas illegally to hotels and other commercial establishments.

Talking to reporters, N.C. Chetan Kumar said that he had found two outlets in Mangaluru taluk, and one -one in Kadaba, Putur and Sulia taluk, where gas from domestic gas cylinders is being transferred to commercial gas cylinders, and is being sold to commercial installations at the rate of domestic gas piles.

In addition, he alleged, these outlets are illegally fitting domestic gas cylinders for vehicles.

“We had complained to Deputy Director, Food and Civil Supply, Dakshin Kannada on 7 March, with these five outlets addresses. We hope that action will be taken as soon as possible, ”Mr. Kumar said.

The 19-Cylogram commercial gas cylinder is sold in the market approximately 2,000, including 18% GST. The domestic gas cylinder is available for approximately 800 including GST of 5%.

Some outlets in Karnataka are providing domestic gas cylinders illegally to commercial installations, causing the government to lose GST revenue. The federation located in Nagpur (Maharashtra) is demanding the closure of such outlets.

He has claimed that the Federation has received a complaint against the gas agencies that are converting domestic gas cylinders into commercial installations.

Mr. Kumar said that customers should emphasize the delivery personnel weighing domestic gas cylinders before accepting the distribution of cylinders. Generally, the delivery personnel are not asking customers for the OTP sent by the oil company at the time of distribution of cylinders.
