Officials announced on Tuesday that three people have been accused of killing the second degree after the death of a 5 -year -old child in a hyperberic room in a medical facility in Michigan.
Officials said Thomas Cooper died in the incident at the Oxford Center in Troy on 31 January.
The chamber had 100% oxygen, which makes it extremely flammable, Lieutenant Keith Young of the Detroit Fire Department said at that time.
Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel said the Oxford Center, Tamela Peterson and the owner of two other facilities have now been accused of killing the second degree.
They also face an alternative charge of involuntary murder. NESEL said that a jury would eventually decide whether the state has enough evidence to prove the murder charge.
The operator of the Hyperberic Chamber also faces allegations of involuntary murder, said NESEL.

Nesell said in a press briefing, “Due to many failures by men and women, who would call themselves medical professionals-and disregard the desired or wilful for the possibility that a patient would die from their actions-5-year-old Thomas Cooper was killed.”
The Oxford Center said it is collaborating with several investigations in the “tragic accident” and “disappointed” in the decision to register the allegations.
The Oxford Center said in a statement, “The time of these allegations is amazing, as the typical protocol has not yet been completed after the fire -related accident.” “There are still outstanding questions about how this happened. Nevertheless, the Attorney General’s office proceeded to carry forward the allegations without those answers.”
The statement said, “Our highest priority every day is the safety and goodness of children and families that we serve, which continues during this process.”
